Post war OS maps at any scale display the National Grid, the coordinates of
which provide the index to larger scale maps do they not?

Alan,
Do you mean the old County Series Maps? If so The Charles Close Society
Printed a facsimile volume of indexes for the counties. Try David Archer -
there still might be copies. The CCS do have a web page but I do not have
the URL to hand. Perhaps Google may help. Otherwise OS used to produce
pages to show which 1;2,500 and 1:10,000 sheets had been produced. These
were not indexes though! Maybe CCS have them in their archive.

Hi,
Has anyone got a map index for the now 'old' 1:2,500 and 1:10,000
maps. I am currently re-appraising the collection here but need the
index to make life easier for me. My own appear to have gone astray
and the O.S. have none. I will be advertising surplus maps
eventually mostly of the south and south east of UK.
many thanks,
Alan
