As well as the usual railway (inc 1990s stations), military (inc civil
defence) , listed, local list, industrial, and war memorials we have a
couple of motorways a motorway interchange, the second Severn crossing,
a deserted village (moved for an air strip extension), a between wars
seaside resort, a cropmark caused by motor cycle riders, a golf course
and a shed to contain Concorde parts. I suppose no that it's going to be
grounded for sometime I should include Concorde!

Dear all
I am just in the process of putting together some notes for a talk I'm
giving next week at IFA on the subject of managing twentieth century
cultural resources. I have had one or two emails arising from a previous
discussion detailing what for some might be rather surprising entries on
SMRs/HERs. I'd welcome any additions though, and esp things that
demonstrate the inclusiveness of SMRs/HERs. I know about military and
industrial for eg, but what else now gets included, either as a matter
of course, or exceptionally?
Also, has there been any attempt to synthesise information about 20th
century on SMRs/HERs, and if not might that be a useful discussion to
have. What should be included in other words. There is so much that
could be included after all - its knowing where to stop, and recognising
and reaching consensus on what is 'historic'.
