Dear Meg,
You probably already know Francis Jones, The Holy Wells of Wales (Cardiff, 1992).
From my readings on this topic, this is one of the clearest-sighted and credible
studies of holy wells, and he has lots of references to particular sites, including
some very useful early modern sources.
