That is totally out of order an inspector would not allow it. Show your
management the exam board regulations. I have a locked metal cupboard
inside a specially built locked room, no windows, within an alarmed office
which is manned at all times during college hours still Edexcel insisted I
had a padlock fitted to the cupboard!

Are inspectors also insistent that the room in which the exam papers are
stored is to be accessed by Exams staff only?
We have one or two issues in a new building here where we are being
told secure exam paper cabinets are to be in the same room as the
secretariat franking machine.

Hi everyone
Has anyone else had feedback from Joint Council inspectors that there
filing cabinets are not meeting regulations?
I have investigated this and we are having to employ the services of a
joiner to create a secure cage fixed to the wall/floor for the 4 filing
cabinets we have for exam papers, all lockable with a bar at the front,
reinforced at the side and the back etc etc
Has any other colleges had the same problem and if so have you any
examples of how you meet the requirements now?
Any help would be appreciated as I need to feedback to the
Accommodation Manager
Thanks
