Well, I think that's Dave (Giaretta)'s decision not mine.
The NDF and associated CONVERT patches are needed to translate URL's to
NDF. Once they're in the USSC you can just type a URL into any Classic
application and it'll grab the file automatically.
The JINI stuff won't work without it, however while it'd be nice to have
to the web services stuff, it isn't essential. I don't see us going to a
fully distributed ORAC-DR in the near future.
JAC regard the large file support as much more vital (critical in fact, if
they don't get it they'll have to stop using ORAC-DR when AXIS comes on
the mountain as it won't be able to handle the file sizes).
I guess the question is, how broken is this stuff?
