Brad,
like DaveB, I haven't been following this closely, but I gather from
the above you've got up to (and beyond) HDS and AST on OS X.
If you're keen to build something that actually does something
before KAPPA is checked in, you could try JNIAST and JNIHDS, so the
java applications would work fully on OS X. Basically you need
to do an 'ant build-native' in the jniast/jnihds directory and
check in the resulting OSX-specific jni{ast,hds}_libs.jar file.
There are probably a few issues about making sure the build
knows where to find libraries etc - if (as is likely) you don't
have all the information to do this I can give you more details.
