On the Medusa in _Comus_: I am averse to the conventional reading, repeated on this thread, that Elder Brother's invocation of her is supposed to be funny. But this is perhaps a matter for the Milton-L.
On Medusa in Am/Epith: it may be worth remembering that Medusa was supposed to have been a beautiful woman before her transformation by Minerva.
