medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
This one is much closer to the typical English iconography, with Christ
displaying his wounds and the BVM and John the Baptist on either side. I
know of one surviving example in Wales (at Wrexham) - and this is what
Salvador and I were writing about - but the image of the BVM placing her
rosary on Michael's scales of justice seems commoner both in Welsh painting
and in poetic imagery.
