wherein is this famous statement (it would have to be "famous", if i've seen
it before) :
"For the honour which is paid to the image passes on to that which the image

does anyone happen to know if this idea actually appears in earlier writings,
as the next sentence seems to imply
" For thus the teaching of our holy Fathers, that is the tradition of the
Catholic Church, which from one end of the earth to the other hath received
the Gospel, is strengthened."
and, if so, where and by whom?
