It can be demonstrated quite easily by scholars who have seen the film,
Terrill. The subject does not belong on this list, unless it can be tied
into the area of list discussions. Also, the text should be vetted by the
list-owner before sending... as was done on IOUDAIOS-L with an eye-witness
post by a professor. Of course, the text with specific examples sent to
IOUDAIOS-L can be forwarded to you... if you so wish.
To bring us back to the discussion of Passion plays, the "poems" in the
"Caedmon" MS have speakers' cues written into the text... They do appear
to be plays rather than simply poems. One of the "Christ" texts may be the
earliest (10th-century) examples of Passion plays in English that we have.
The so-called "Genesis" -- better titled "Adam and Eve in the Garden of
Eden" -- looks very much like it may be a very early fore-runner of the
Adam and Eve plays in the Mystery Cycles.
Regards,
Rochelle
