Learning & Development would like to Invite you to attend a Critical
Appraisal of Systematic Reviews Workshop.
Venue: INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES, OLD ROAD, HEADINGTON, OXFORD
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (lunch available at 12:30)
Cost: £169 (includes all materials, lunch and refreshments)
Critical appraisal is the process of systematically weighing up the quality
and relevance of 'research'. Evidence suggests that good research fails to
get in to practice because over 70% of health-care professionals would not
be able to critically appraise a research paper. If you are relatively new
to the formal study of critical appraisal or would like to 'top-up' your
knowledge, this workshop is for you.
All Are Welcome!
The following training will deliver the skills and resources to support
clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and increase public health
capacity leading to greater awareness of evidence-based practice in your
team, organisation or locality. The workshops also provide a great
opportunity to network with colleagues.
Programme
9:00 a.m. - Registration & Coffee
9:15 a.m. - Welcome & Introduction to the workshop
10:15 a.m. - Small Group Work - appraising a published paper
11:15 a.m. - Coffee/Tea Break
11:30 a.m. - Feedback from small groups
