WILIP: PROSPECTS FOR RESOURCEšS WIDER LIBRARIES PROGRAMME
Tuesday 3 February 2004, 10.15am to 3.45pm Stamford, near Peterborough
The results of the consultative phase of the Wider Libraries Programme were
recently published. They:
- identify the issues to which libraries and information providers must
respond if they are to realise the vision that users will have of services
in the future;
- highlight the key challenges identified across all sectors of the LIS
domain;
- set out the steps now to be taken to engage policy-makers and key
influencers and to position LISs at the heart of national strategies for
the Knowledge Society.
This topical cross-sectoral Seminar gives an opportunity to examine and
comment on the outcomes of WILIP so far and particularly on the next
strategic stage, Routes to Knowledge (RTK) - to be published later this
month
