medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Thanks to Juris and Thomas!
Both your comments have been a great help actually. After spending a long
evening with both the 4 volume _Medieval Manuscripts in British Libraries_
and the one volume (plus suppl.) _Medieval Libraries of Great Britain_ I
realized that for my purposes the two works complement each other
beautifully. I checked the occurence of the title I am interested in in 20
of the major medieval libraries (Durham, Syon etc.) in MLGB. Knowing where
the work was held and more importantly where it is held now, I could then
look up the more detailed description of the manuscript/incunable in MMBL.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate the index in our University
Library. It would be of great value to have a look at that too though,
because so far I have only ckecked 20 of the major medieval libraries
(Durham, Syon etc.) but left out all the smaller ones. The index would
hopefully give me all the medieval libraries which held the title I am
intersted in.
At any rate, thank you again!
Sandra
