Dear Lisa,
Contact Brian Kooyman at U of Calgary. He excavated Head-Smashed-In and
if there is a reference on bison he will know it. I do know there was a
great study by Dale Walde (also U of C) on discriminant function analysis
of long bones and by Kooyman and Sandgathe (in the Guthrie Feschrift by
Murray and Gerlach) on d.f. of carpals/tarsals. It has been a decade
since I worked on the HSI material so I can't recall a fusion reference
off the top of my head.
Best regards and hope to see you next week in Montreal.
