Yes, good idea.
I have just replied to an invite to attend, and said that I would like to
give a demo of the latest and greatest. I guess Mark will be there also
since it's a Bristol.
I also said that I intend to put an update on Starlink status on STARMAN
well before the meeting.

Greetings,
This just appeared on uk.org.starlink.announce, as I'm sure you'll be
aware. As it happened, I'd been talking to Graeme about this earlier,
and he suggested that we make sure to tie in the `Spring Release'
(hell, no, let's go wild with confidence and call it the Spring
Release) with this, so that we either make that release before the
SMM, or make sure to give the managers previews or betas at the
meeting. Should we perhaps offer a build/install/wow-the-users
tutorial there? (I don't know if they're soliciting such, but there's
no harm asking).
Presuming we're invited, of course.
Graeme also said that, once I had the CVS stuff organised, he'd sort
out making Debian packages of everything (since he said this now the
event's still comfortably in the future, let's not hold him to it...).
I mentioned that if he does this, he should probably chat with Tim
first. Given that and the licencing tidyups that Tim suggested,
Graeme says that there's no reason why Starlink couldn't be included
in debian, as IRAF apparently is already.
Compile farms: There appears to be a
sourceforge compile farm; it reportedly has a URL of
<http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=762&group_id=1>,
though the site appears to be unavailable at present. Also Compaq/HP
(is there a merger I've missed?) have <http://www.testdrive.compaq.com/>.
Apple's `ADC Compatibility Labs' seem to include a compile farm, at
<http://developer.apple.com/testing/facilities.html>
See you,
Norman

1 NEWS: Astronomy Computer Managers Meeting
Hi All,
In a moment of weakness, I have said yes to organising the next system
managers meeting. It will be in Bristol and will start with Lunch on
Wednesday April 21st and end with lunch on the following day, Thursday
22nd of April 2004.
Please send agenda items to Barry Smalley ([log in to unmask]) who
will act as chairman again.
Details on how to get to Bristol University can be found here:
http://www.bris.ac.uk/university/maps/
Please reply to me, Rhys ([log in to unmask]) as soon as possible
with requests for accommodation, the earlier you reply, the better (and
more convenient) accommodation you will get...
Please pass this message on to any Solar or Theoretical managers that
may be interested.
Looking forward to hearing from you all,
Rhys Morris
