Well said. When my wife reported a variety of odd symptoms to her GP and
a few days later had tachycardia and called an ambulance, the GP sent a
note suggesting to the hospital that it was psychosomatic and caused by
stress. He asked me if we had marital problems! She was subsequently
self-diagnosed (but accepted now by GP and consultant) as suffering a
tick-borne infection, ie Lyme disease or equivalent which is endemic
across the whole British Isles. We wonder how many other "malingerers"
are carrying undiagnosed bacterial loads.
