Sara,
We are pleased to announce that the funding for the Plagiarism Advisory
Service has now been extended until August 2005. After this date the
detection service software will move from being fully funded by the JISC to
become self-financing over the following three years. At the moment the
precise figures involved are the subject of negotiations between the JISC,
the service and iParadigms, the software developers, so we are unable to
provide any details although we are led to believe that, in common with
other software licences negotiated on behalf of universities and colleges by
the JISC, the final figures will be banded in relation to the number of
students registered in institutions.
When we have any further information about the outcome of the negotiations
we will, of course, advise list members.
Regards
Fiona Duggan

Subject: Continued JISC funding?
I notice that the original paperwork we received regarding the JISC
plagiarism service stated that the service would be fully funded by JISC
but only until August 2004. This is now only two months away.
There is nothing built into our budget for next year to cover any costs
that might be applicable by then. Could somebody let me know what the
future plans for paying for this service are please?
