Dear Rosan, Jan and All
I found it helpful to look at Richard Buchanan's 'Wicked Problems In Design
Thinking'
Here Richard talks about the emergence of design as 'a new liberal art of
technological culture' .Design is an integretive discpline. It is not bound by
established theoretical or methodological frameworks. Here Buchanan uses
Dewey's ideas about technology - the art of experiemental thinking - to link
art, science, and design.
At DDR4 John Chris Jones called for the design research community to 'end the
dualism and seek integration' . For me, that hit the nail of the head (not sure
whether he was using Heideggar's hammer...? )
Best wishes
