We currently work at a company situated on the Shaw Cross Business Park,
just off Owl Lane in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
We have recently been looking into the history of the site and believe
it was once a colliery. We know that there used to be changing rooms for
the miners just across the road (Owl Lane) on Churwell Lane, and we also
understand there was an accident on this site where a number of men lost
their lives.
Would it possible for you to give us any more information on this
colliery and the accident that occured here?
With thanks in anticipation
Joanne Siddle
