I suspect this may be Cockshutts Colliery. It was abandoned
in 1902. but I believe there were later workings as part of Parkfield.
In 1887 there are two workings noted there, one worked by
Bailey & Williams and the other by Wright and Lane. Postal
address is given as Rough Hills, Wolverhampton.

Subject: Corksheets Colliery, Bilston.
Can anyone on the list provide me with any information regarding "Corksheets
Colliery". The only information I have related to this mine is that it was
located near to Bilston and was certainly in production in 1815 when it was
associated (possibly owned by) Mr. George Rushbury. This mine issued £1 and
10/- promissory notes. George Rushbury, who I believe was a local banker in
Bilston at that time, also issued commercial penny tokens in his own name.
