I think in Mike Gills list of closures and working mines he is only talking
of "Yorkshire Mines" as in the email title (although you also noted that he
says UK mines in the text). He doesn't include Tower (S Wales), the Forest
of Dean Mines or the one in Cumbria which was the basis of a lecture at the
NAMHO conference. He also doesn't include Ellington in Northumberland or Daw
Mill in Warwickshire both of which are as far as I am aware still producing
coal. Two Nottingham pits are still in production also, (Thorsby as well as
Harworth previously mentioned)
I may have missed a few but nevertheless its a grim picture.
