Mary,
the easiest would be to come to the University of Aberdeen where we use
OSCEs all the time for examining medical students. This would give you a
sense of the strengths and limiations of OSCEs, although not the topic are
for your midwifery exam.
Also get you external examiner involved at a very early stage.
Contact Kath Greaves in the Medical Education Unit.
Good luck
Edwin

Subject: Re: using OSCE for summative assessment in midwifery education
I am currently developing a module on Needs Assessment in Midwifery
using enquiry based learning. The assessment will be via an OSCE - I was
wondering if anyone could give me the benefit of their experience in
developing the stations for the OSCE
