Mary,
the easiest would be to come to the University of Aberdeen where we use
OSCEs all the time for examining medical students. This would give you
a sense of the strengths and limiations of OSCEs, although not the topic
are for your midwifery exam. Also get you external examiner involved at
a very early stage.

I am currently developing a module on Needs Assessment in Midwifery
using enquiry based learning. The assessment will be via an OSCE - I was
wondering if anyone could give me the benefit of their experience in
developing the stations for the OSCE
