BIG SAVINGS ON MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR CILIP MEMBERS
Deal with leading healthcare insurer provides savings of up to 40%
CILIP: the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals has reached agreement with leading health insurer the Hospital & Medical Care Association (HMCA) on a Private Medical Plan open to all UK CILIP Members.
A letter from CILIP's Chief Executive Bob McKee is going out to UK Members today, accompanying the regular Gazette mailing and inviting interested Members to return a reply-paid enquiry form for further information and a quotation. There is no commitment at this stage, and Members will not be bothered by sales representatives.
"I'm very pleased that we are able to offer this scheme to CILIP Members and their families," says CILIP's Head of External Relations Tim Buckley Owen. "We've had approaches from several medical insurance providers, but only HMCA has been able to come up with a scheme that meets CILIP Members' needs."
HMCA deals only with professional membership bodies, making it particularly well suited to CILIP's requirements. The HMCA Medical Plus Plan is competitively priced, offering savings of up to 40% compared with other well known health care schemes.
National Health Service patients can also benefit from the scheme. "Once you are a member of the scheme, if you have your treatment provided under NHS care you could claim £250 for each night you spend in hospital," says Crispin Scott-Beckett, Membership Services Executive at HMCA. "Alternatively you can choose to have your treatment undertaken privately, promptly after diagnosis, enabling you to return to work without any unnecessary delay. This provides you with both freedom of choice and peace of mind should you encounter health problems."
To find out more about the scheme, CILIP Members can go to www.cilip.org.uk, follow the links to Membership > Lifestyle and request further information online. Alternatively, Members can contact the HMCA helpline direct on 01423 866985. As with any CILIP Bonus Benefit, you should always be ready to quote your CILIP Membership number and the date you last renewed.
