SYMPOSIUM, a quarterly journal in modern foreign literatures, welcomes contributions pertinent to modern languages and literatures. Research on authors, themes, periods, genres, works, and theory, often through comparative studies, is regularly featured.
Recent issues include essays on Yolanda Bedregal, Albert Camus, Assia Djebar, Carlos Fuentes, Gaston Leroux, José Marmol, Amos Oz, Francesco Petrarca, and Marguerite Yourcenar. Although primarily in English, some issues include discussions of works in the original language.
