Senior Adviser, Building Science and Climate Control
The Department of Conservation
National Museum of Denmark

National Museum of Denmark require a Senior Adviser with responsibility
in the area of preservation of buildings to start January 1, 2005 or as
soon as possible thereafter. The post holder will be a part of the
Department of Conservation's laboratory.

Responsibilities:

    *   Measuring and advising on climate in churches and other
        protected buildings

    *   Analysis and advice giving concerning reparation of
        protected buildings

    *   Research and development concerning building science and
        preservation

    *   Advising on climate requirements, light levels and
        appropriate materials for use in exhibitions and storage
        areas

Qualifications: Applicants should have a relevant academic background
with at least a PhD, knowledge of building science, experience in
solving microclimate problems, ability to work in the area of building
conservation with consideration to preventive conservation of the
decoration and objects contained within.

Applicants should be experienced in and well suited to collaborating
with others from other academic backgrounds and at all levels. He/she
should be able to work independently and be flexible. The applicant must
have a driving licence and be willing to travel occasionally.

Salary and employment conditions: Working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is permanent. Salary and employment conditions are as those
described for state-employed academics in Denmark. An academic committee
containing an external examiner will evaluate applications.

details of education, career to date, publication list or evidence of
scientific writing including 3 examples of the scientific writing you
wish to be evaluated should be received by the Museum no later than
midday, November 19, 2004 at
