There is a short documentary _La Direction d'acteurs par Jean Renoir_ (FR, dir.: Gisele Braunberger, 1966). We do have it here at Finnish Film Archive, but I guess you can find it somewhere closer to home.

Aihe: Renoir, Acting Lesson or technical resources
Does anyone know of a Renoir film which consists of him giving an acting
lesson? (I think it may actually be called "The Acting Lesson"). A
friend of mine told me about it, but I've never seen it in any video
store (or Netflix) or read about it. Is this real? How can I get it? Or
might I be thinking of a different director?
Additionally, any advice on similar films by great directors where they
talk about their relationship to actors? I just got a collection of
essays by Dreyer and thought that the sections where he talks about his
own technique were especially interesting. Are there any film books you
recommend specifically for their discussion of non-theoretical,
technical matters?
Thanks,
Ken
