I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my query about points at which to
enter Godard's oeuvre, both on- and off-list. The fact that nearly all of
you suggested an entirely different list of films is almost better than the
alternative, since it means that I was right in being confused about what to
watch. Also, that his body of work is different from many in that it can't
be centred or referred back to a few filmic "masterpieces" which provide one
with its culmination (such as those of Fuller, Welles, Fellini, etc.).
