I missed Notre Musique at the Toronto Festival, but I
did see Chantal Akerman's Demain on Demenage.
Afterwards, someone asked Akerman what her next
project would be and she replied that she for a while
she was considering making a movie about Israel,
partly to counteract what she perceived as
anti-seminism in Notre Musique. She then delivered
quite a passionate diatribe against Godard's film,
claiming that it was hateful towards Jews.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the specific examples
she gave of anti-semitic bias in the film. I'm
wondering if anyone who has seen Notre Musique might
care to comment on this.
