> Moving Home by Vanley Burke - Fri 10 Sept - Wed 10 Nov
> An exhibition focussing on the stories of people who have moved to Wolverhampton from another country. All the subjects are united by the same question: can I go back? For some the majority of their lives have been spent here and despite an allegiance to this country will always have dreams of returning to their country of birth. Others have been forced to leave their homeland and are unsure if they will ever return. All have made the Midlands their home, but what does that mean to them?
>
> Birmingham-based photographer Vanley Burke is well known for his passionate photography documenting the lives of people who are living in the UK but were born elsewhere. His success in capturing the essence of a person stems from an empathy with his subjects. Born in Jamaica and moving here in 1965 at the age of 14 has given him an insight into people> '> s feelings of home and a keen interest in observing how people live.
>
> Using photographs and written statements this exhibition aims to show and share the dilemmas of those whose home isn> '> t always where the heart is.
