I would suggest the recent book by the canadians Peter S.Grant and
Chris Wood:
Blockbusters and Trade wars: Popular culture in a Globalized World / Le
marché des étoiles, Culture populaire et mondialisation.
Published in both english and french by Douglas & McIntyre and Boreal
in 2004.
It is on film, television and books, but most of it is dedicated to
film industry: production & distribution.
In almost 600 pages, they cover a lot of details of these questions
around the world.
