There are a lot of South Korean films which deal with the impact of Buddhism
on the peninsula or nation, or with Buddhism itself. See Kim Ki-Deok's
recent "Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter....and Spring". You may also want to
check out the films of Im Kwon-Taek, "Mandala", which is about Buddhism, and
also "Daughters of the Fire", which is about Korean shamanism. Also, see
"Bungee Jumping of Their Own"(Pyeonji Jeonpuru hada), which deals with the
ideas of karma and reincarnation.
Since you are looking for ideas about films on Hinduism, Islam, Taoism and
Confucianism, you may need to look into selected South Asian films. Are you
aware of an Indian film entitled "Kama Sutra" which is a feminist remake of
the original religious-Tantric based sex manual of ancient Indian culture?
