I don't know that it's easier for the feminine; rather I find that most
women are forced to deal with these issues, whether they like it or not. But
I'm not really interested in quibbling either, as I think Keith is getting
to the heart of the matter when he comments on the so-called crisis in
masculinity: "why should someone who believes they are invincible try to
adopt their opposite?"
In view of the current cultural and political climate, such questions take
on added significance, no? Perhaps this is getting closer to answering the
interesting questions posed by Frank concerning what is at stake in such an
analysis.
Curiously, another thread on road movies has also been running. Kill Bill
actually ends with the Bride and her child in a convertable out on the
highway. To me this suggests there is more to come in this postmodern saga.
