Graduate Research Degree Studentships
Leeds Metropolitan University is offering up to three postgraduate
studentships in the following areas in which it has a national
reputation.
· Modern social and cultural history
· Media studies
· Public relations
Applicants should propose a discrete area of enquiry relevant to one of
the following broad themes, which they would be interested in
researching. Those considering applying are encouraged to contact the
relevant Director of Studies to discuss their ideas.
1 Gender and crime in Britain, 1870-1970

The studentships carry a bursary of £9,000 plus a fee payment rate
equivalent to the rate for home/EU students and the opportunity to do
part-time teaching in the university. An allowance will also be made to
support conference attendance and/or research expenses. The studentships
are intended to support the completion of a PhD. They are offered for up
to three years subject to satisfactory progress.
