Dear Epiphanie,
Unfortunately I do not have a copy of my CV with me at the moment, but I had
to reply to your e-mail as quickly as possible to let you know that I would
LOVE to be your assistant editor for this project.
My B.A. is in Film and Media Studies, and I am just about to graduate with
an M.A. in European Cultural Studies. I am extremely well versed in
Baudrillard, Barthes, Foucault, etc. (all the usual suspects) AND, on top of
that...I am actually an employee of MTV Networks! (Newly hired, that is.)
I'm actually working for VH1, but the two stations work very closely
together, even sharing office space. In case you are worried that this may
pose a conflict, I assure you that my interest in MTV/VH1 is on the same
page as yours...I look at my job here as an opportunity to observe first
hand the culture that produces such cultural gems as 'Made,' or--my latest
fascination--'I Want a Famous Face.'
As for editing experience, I am also a professionally trained
proofreader/editor, and have successfully edited two Ph.D. dissertations
that are soon to be published. I will send you my CV first thing in the
morning, but please consider me for this project. I would truly love to help
you on it.
Best regards,
Leinana Myers
