Y'know, Yasemin, it's amazing the variety of things that different
people will resort to to escape their feelings. And feelings are what
we're escaping, no matter by what means. For some individuals a good
movie will do. For others, any of a number of hobbies that suffice to
"keep their mind off of what's on their mind". For yet others, the
unconfronted feelings can become overwhelming, and the only escape they
see as offering any relief is often addiction to alcohol &/or drugs.
Now, with regards to the films you mentioned, are you referring to
escapism exhibited by one or more of the characters in each, or to the
movies themselves as examples of movies which one can use to escape?
You've got me curious.
