Hi,
Films that I think sucessfully address what Carmelo identifies as "the idea
of relationships between director, film, actor, time and money" include
"essay films" like Chris Marker's "Sans Soleil," Pasolini's "Notes Toward an
African Oresteia," Godard's "Two or Three Things I Know About Her," and so
on.
The relationships in these films between themselves as artifacts and the
real-world tasks of making them provide interesting commentary on the issue
of persona in film. Films of this type (such as there is one) are discussed
interestingly in the book "Beyond Document: Essays on Nonfiction Film,"
edited by Charles Warren. I don't know if it is available in South America,
but if you have a chance to pick it up, I think you will find it extremely
illuminating on the interaction between images and other aspects of film. I
hope this helps.
Dan
