This of course depends on your definition - one's man's utopia is definitely
another man's dystopia - LOGAN'S RUN is a good example. Equally, what you're
really discussing is a film which incorporates a frame of reference - after
all, why just that one STAR TREK film?
Do you mean films that depict only a completely positive future, or ones
that treat the subject of a utopian ideal (which tends to be found lacking
in most films lets face it)?
LOST HORIZON (1937 or 1973) isn't actually set in the future by the way.
I suppose CONQUEST OF SPACE (1955) had nothing but nice tings to say about
the future. Chris Columbus' BICENTENNIAL MAN (1999) was also fairly benign
