Folks:
In A Clockwork Orange, little Alex literally uses the word "you" in addressing us, the audience, "his only friends" at his lowest points, e.g., upon being released from prison after undergoing the Ludovico technique. I think his use of the second person is part of what secures our identification with this "monster", which is so crucial to Kubrick's celebration of Alex's "recovery" at the end.
