also a 360 pan in 2 ou 3 choses que je sais d'elle.
I'm fascinated by this discussion of 2nd person narration in film but
also a little surprised to see it conflated with direct address to the
camera. It's got me thinking about just what 2nd person narration
really is... I'm currently reading Jonathan Lethem's fantastic new novel
The Fortress of Solitude which uses 2nd person narration a lot, but I
don't really have the impression that the author/narrator is addressing
_me_ but rather some fictional construct that is somewhere between the
protagonist and the author/narrator himself...
I struggle to imagine how this could be equated in cinema. The more I
think about (and teach) literature and film, the more I think there's
very little common ground between them at all...
