Macquarie University is conducting an international review of sustainable schools programs. The review will examine Eco-school, Green school, Enviroschool initiatives amongst others. This research has been commissioned by the Federal Government of Australia.
We are keen to feature all relevant programs in this review and would like to request assistance from members on this e-list to help us locate appropriate information and documentation and/or establish key contacts who could assist with this task.
Any assistance in this regard is much appreciated, and of course will be gratefully acknowledged in our final report. We would be more than happy to provide you will a summary of our findings.

International Review of School-Based Sustainability Programs
Objective of Review
The objective of this project is to gather information to inform the development of a national Sustainable Schools program in Australia through an examination of international experience.
Research requirements
The project should include, but is not limited to, research into the following aspects of similar overseas programs:
§ frameworks within which the initiative operates (eg. policies, national strategies, curriculum requirements);
§ the role and nature of partnerships amongst supporting organizations and community;
§ short and long term environmental, social, educational and financial achievements;
§ results of program evaluations.
§ methods for monitoring and reporting the social, environmental, educational and financial outcomes;
§ program content including environmental, social and curriculum issues;
§ links between the programs and existing school curriculum;
§ Accreditation / certification systems;
§ Implementation resources (e.g. facilitators, materials, internet);
§ differences in the impact of the program in primary schools and secondary schools, country and metropolitan areas, government and non-government education systems;
