The University of Bristol is pleased to announce the
general release of its Blackboard CAS Recipe.
Thanks go to colleagues at the following organisations
who have helped in the testing of the recipe:
California State University, Long Beach
Florida State University
Unicon
University of Amsterdam
University of the West of England
Western Washington University
Yale University
What does it do?
Using Yale's Central Authentication Service (CAS)
<http://www.yale.edu/tp/cas/> it achieves
single single-on between Blackboard and
other CASified Web applications. Many uPortal
sites use CAS.
Where can I find the recipe?
<http://www.bris.ac.uk/is/projects/portal/software/blackboard_cas>
What else do I need?
You need a Blackboard Enterprise license.
If you want a Blackboard channel in uPortal then use one of the
variants of the original CalPoly work. A recent example by the
University of Nebraska Medical Center was documented in an
attachment to this message:
<http://list.unm.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0402&L=jasig-portal&F=&S=&P=34614>
Regards
Paul
P.S. Next up will be a release of CASUserFolder for Zope/CMF/Plone.
This allows a first level of integration (i.e. single sign-on)
to be achieved between uPortal and Zope/CMF/Plone. If any sites
would like to help in testing this then please contact me.
