We would try and withdraw an EPIOC (or tell them not to drive it in public
spaces), but I would be prepared to leave them with an EPIC, if they can use
it safely between fits..

I think it depends on your initial criteria for issue, WESTMARC requires
people to be fit free for a year prior to issuing EPIOCs. To be equitable we
would have to withdraw the chair until they met this criteria again, in the
same way we would withdraw a chair if it became apparent somebody was not
safe using the chair.

Dear Gary,
The solution to your problem is to reassess the risks to the chair occupant
and others in the event that the user has a grand mal whilst driving. The
likely outcome is that you will find it necessary to restrict the user to
attendant control only for a period of time determined by their consultant
neurologist.
Kind Regards

Has anyone had a scenario whereby a user of a powerchair has begun to have
regular grand mals?
Would the consensus be that we should/must withdraw the powerchair?
Thank you (in anticipation),
