We have given a voucher for the base eg Badger Highway, and I am told, that
with maintenance and VAT, this virtually covered the cost to the patient of
a Badger Highway with rising seat.

Currently we have not provided any of these types of wheelchairs, although I
know that some areas have partly funded them with SS where they have negated
the need for adaptations, providing a more cost effective alternative.
I suspect the need for this type of equipment is going to increase, and we
will need to explore the options. Perhaps an independant voucher approach to
maintenance would be appropriate, as I'm not sure that a lot of ARs would
cope with maintenance issues within current contracts.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering how many NHS wheelchair services issue EPIOCs
with rise and fall units. If you do, could you let me know
what criteria do you use?
Thanks
Alan
