MRC Biostatistics Unit, Cambridge
The MRC Biostatistics Unit is one of the world's leading biostatistics
research institutions, and aims to advance medical science and
health-care delivery by the development and application of appropriate
statistical methodology.
The appointee will work principally with Dr David Spiegelhalter, and
will contribute to a research programme into the analysis and design of
monitoring procedures using multiple longitudinal performance indicators
measured on multiple institutions. The work will include collaboration
with the Healthcare Commission and the Association of Public Health
Observatories.
The appointment will be for three years, commencing November 2004 or
possibly earlier. Applicants should have (or be submitting) a PhD, or
have an MSc with some years of experience of research in statistics. An
appointment in MRC band 4 is expected, with initial salary likely to be
in the range £24,138 to £25,134.
