I should like to 'chip in' to this topic. Firstly, I endorse everything
that Mike Hallworth said in his reply. Secondly, I have been working
with the CPD team in the College to ensure that they are aware of the
HPC consultation exercise and that we understand how the two schemes can
come together. Until we know the final shape of the HPC scheme it is
not possible to be prescriptive but at that time the College will issue
a statement on how Clinical Scientist participation in its scheme can
comply with the requirements of HPC.

Subject: Health Professions Council CPD scheme
Dear UK colleagues,
The Health Profession Council's CPD scheme to allow us to continue
practising as Clinical Scientists will soon become compulsory. However,
I
understand that it will not accept my RCPath scheme evidence of CPD if I
am
chosen for audit. This seems ludicrous to me. Surely, CPD evidence
should
be interchangeable, or else does anyone have any opinions on the
benefit
of subscribing to and paying for both the HPC and Royal College of
Pathologist's schemes?
