Lots of things could have caused it, including trauma and assorted
systemic diseases. A photo would be useful, and diagnosis will almost
certainly require a good x-ray.

Subject: [ZOOARCH] Pathology?
Hi All
I have from an early/middle bronze age pit assemblage of partially
articulated Juvenile red deer and calf skeletons.
One of the red deer metatarsals has a slightly bowed shaft, the
remaining bones are all straight and normal. The curvature of the shaft
is not extreme but noticable.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could have caused this?
Thanks in advance
Jen Kitch
