You can tell its the end of term - I have time to thing about other things.
Anyhow there is a large amount of bone debitage from a mesolithic site in
Scotland that the excavators want looking at - they think that the bone has been
flaked to produce tools etc - and they also have some experimentally flaked bone
and debutage to compare it to.
1 Does anyone know of any work on bone debutage? I know Alan Outram has done
much on marrow extraction etc, but does anyone know of work on bone working
debris of early prehistory? It strikes me that any analysis would lie somewhere
between lithics and zooarchaeology.
