I was wondering if anyone could give me some advise on lifting some very delicate pleistocene animal bones? The bones are within a section in sandy soil some 5 metres below the ground, and are likely to completely fall apart on lifting. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting the bones out safely without completely destroying them!? Unfortunately because of the depth of the bones, they cannot be retrieved from above, but must somehow be pulled out of the section.
Any ideas would be greatfully received,
Thanks in advance,
Emma-Jayne
