Dear all,
The partridge Alectoris barbara was present at the town of Carthage.
Excavations by the universities of Hamburg and Amsterdam at the site of
Cartage gave:
one partidge bone in the archaic layer 760-575 BC
two partridge bones in the Byzantine layer 530-700 AD
The hare was also present in Roman and Byzantine context.
Publication is in press.
Best wishes, Louise
